ASO seizes non-duty paid ladies suiting fabric along with offending vehicle on GT Road

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized foreign origin ladies suiting fabric along with offending vehicle worth of Rs 1.27 million from GT Road Hassanabdal.

Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gadd told Customs Today that under the directions of Saeed Khan Jadoon, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, the ASO formed a picket near GT Road Hassanabdal and intercepted a Toyota Corolla car bearing registration BD-644 ICT, Model 2014.

He said that during search the ASO staff found 320 kilogram foreign origin ladies suiting polyester and asked the driver to show legal proof of the goods but he failed to do so.

The Assistant Collector said that the estimated value of the seized fabric was Rs 0.16 million while the estimated value of offending vehicle was Rs 1.14 million,

He said that the ASO staff seized smuggled goods along with offending vehicle and brought it to the State Warehouse for further investigation. He added that an FIR has been registered against the offenders and a case has been forwarded to Investigation and Prosecution Department.

The ASO staff taken part in said seizer was comprises Superintend Abdul Maalak, Superintend Muhammad Junaid, Inspector Tariq Mehmood and staff of category IV.
