ASO seizes red chilies, Indian fabric at GT Road

SIALKOT: Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Zone-11 confiscated smuggled Indian Origin red chilies and cloth worth Rs.200,000 from a van at Grand Trunk (GT) road Sialkot.

Deputy Collector Waheed Anwar Abro instructed Superintendent Sohail Butt, deputed Inspector Arshad Hussain and Iftikhar to check vehicles make foil the attempt of smuggling.
On the directions of higher authorities the Inspector started checking along with his team on GT road near river Chenab Bridge. During the checking of the vehicles the team intercepted a mini bus bearing registration number MRA-123 which was coming to Mir Pur (AJK) and going to Lahore. while the searching of the bus the team recovered smuggled Indian origin fabrics and red chili worth of Rs 200.000. The ASO officials asked drive Raja Talat about booking documents of smuggled Indian Origin items then driver was failed to show any documents and he told team that these items were booked from General Bus Stand Mir Pur (AJK) and I don’t know that these Items or smuggled or not. However the team confiscated smuggled items and released driver and minis bus after proper interrogation. The team has registered a case against General Bus Stand Mir Pur (AJK) Manager and team will issue notice him about proceedings in adjudication court.
