ASO seizes smuggled cloth worth millions

SIALKOT: Anti Smuggling Organization has seized smuggled cloth worth millions and impounded three trucks allegedly using for transportation near River Chanab Bridge Sialkot.

According to customs’ officials, three trucks loaded with foreign origin cloths were coming from Bhimber (Azad Jammu and Kashmir). ASO team stopped the truck for routine checking near River Chanab Bridge and found smuggled cloth which was being supplied to domestic markets of Gujrat Sialkot, Gujranwala and Lahore.

While checking the trucks, teams asked the drivers to produce legal documents for the consignments but they failed to do so. On which ASO impounded the trucks and cloth. Drivers have been arrested to investigate the case, officials informed.
