ATIR hears case filed by M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited

ISLAMABAD: Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti continued hearing of tax matters remanded back by the Islamabad High Court.

ATIR member technical heard M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited’s matter which was contesting a show cause notice issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to details, M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had challenged recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited had submitted that the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2013 under the head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and ATIR.

Appellant had challenged the decision claiming that it wake in violation of law and the department did not fulfill the legal obligation while deciding the matter. The appellant had prayed the tribunal to hear the matter and decide in light of law and provide it lawful relief in this regard.

Meanwhile, the tribunal also received petition from M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited for early hearing of a tax matter pending with tribunals for months.
