ATIR postpones hearing of couple of tax matters during last week of Feb

ISLAMABAD: The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) has adjourned the hearing of a couple of tax matters during fourth week of February.

ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the cases. M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had a contested show cause notice issued by the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to details, M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had challenged a recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited had submitted the department had issued the demand notice for the tax year 2013 under the head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Same bench heard cases filed by M/s Aftab Traders and dated in office due to extensive hearing on some other matters at the tribunal.

This case filed by M/s Aftab Traders, was heard by the bench for the first time and adjourned. The bench was hearing a matter remanded back to tribunal by the Islamabad High Court with directions to decide fate of the matter lawfully. The appellant had challenged the earlier announcement by the tribunal terming that clauses of income tax were ignored.

It had prayed the court to ensure an announcement according to the law. Following which the court had remanded back the case to the tribunal. M/s Aftab Traders had contested show cause notices issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue.
