CANBERRA: A Canberra man has been charged with drug smuggling after police seized drugs and $22,000 cash from his home yesterday.
Police said about 4:15pm on Wednesday they conducted a raid on a 45-year-old man’s home in Chisholm, where they seized about 9.9 kilograms of dried cannabis head and a sum of cash.
Officers also seized items used to cultivate the drug, which had been vacuum-packed into food storage bags.
About 8:00pm, the man was arrested and taken to Tuggeranong Police Station where he underwent a number of forensic procedures.
He is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with trafficking a quantity of cannabis.
