Ayyan’s statement submitted in ATC in Customs inspector murder case

RAWALPINDI: The investigation officer of Customs Intelligence official Ejaz Mahmood’s murder on Friday submitted the statement of model Ayyan Ali in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) during the hearing of the case.

ATC judge Asif Majeed Awan heard the murder case today. Investigation officer Malik Tahir in the court proceeding said that Ali had filed her statement in Waris Khan Police Station on 19th September. He further said that the model can be summoned for investigation if the need arises. The court adjourned the hearing of the murder case till 26th September.

Model Ayyan Ali was detained on March 14, 2015 at the Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport, on money laundering charges following customs officials recovered $506,000 from her luggage before she could board a flight to Dubai.

Customs Inspector Ejaz Mahmood, involved in arrest of Ayyan Alli, was gunned down by unidentified attackers in June 2015 at his home. His widow claimed in a petition in the court that her husband was killed at the behest of the model. Ayyan Ali was indicted in the murder case by a local court on September 1st, 2016.
