Bajwa directs tax officers to recover Rs 70 billion from SM Foods

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Bajwa has directed the subordinates to present the comprehensive report on Rs 70 billion tax evasion by a famous businessman of Multan City.

As per details, FBR chairman asked regional tax officers of Multan to recover Rs 70 billion rupees tax from a businessman evaded in last two years.

The accused Saim Mobeen and Chaudhry Zulfiqar Anjum were allegedly involved in the stealing of Sui gas for their biscuit factory S.M Foods on manufacturing plants evading Rs 70 billion tax money.

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs could achieve their last annual target of Rs 68 billion, which they failed to achieve, by just collecting the said evaded money but they are not pursuing the case in a proper manner.

The accused have taken a stay order against the tax evasion charges from High Court.
