KARACHI: The bearish note continued at the Pakistan Stock Exchange as benchmark 100-inded dropped 119.86 points to reach 36146.37 points level till midday on Thursday.
The stocks recorded the highest trading level of 36450.85points and lowest level of 36094.49 points, with the volume of 178 million shares, having about Rs 6.12 billion value. As many as 314 companies were active; of which 163 advanced, 132 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
Chemical was the top traded sector with 35,446,100 volume, while miscellaneous remained second with 21,026,700 volume.
The three top traded companies were Pace (Pak) Ltd with a volume of 19,399,500 and price per share of 6.74 (0.43), Lotte Chemical with a volume 11,620,000 of price per share of 6.35 (0.33), Descon Oxychem with a volume 10,330,000 of price per share of 7.57 (0.45).
The top three gainers were Sanofi-AventisXD with price per share 570 (17.66), Pak.Int.ContXD with price per share of 330 (8.46) and Feroze 1888 XD price per share of 174.96 (8.33).
The top three losers were Nestle Pak XD with price per share of 7050 (-109), Pak TobaccoXD with price per share of 1181.70 (-62.19) and Siemens Pak per share of 1000 (-34.49).
Earlier, the Pakistan Stock Exchange opened negative with 21.94 points loss as benchmark 100-index dropped to 36244.29 points level in early trading.
On Wednesday, the stock market benchmark KSE 100-share Index closed flat with a gain of 1.11 points to close at 36,266.23 points. The highest index of the day remained at 36,412.84 points while the lowest level of the day was recorded at 36,230.25 points.
However, turnover increased by 19 million shares to 300.98 million shares, trading value improved to Rs12.11 billion against Rs11.89 billion while market capital remained flat at Rs7.43 trillion. Of a total of 365 companies’ active in the session, 169 recorded in green, 163 in red while 33 remained unchanged.
