KARACHI: The Karachi stocks remained in bearish note as 100-index shed 134.68 points to drop to 32747.34 points level till midday on Wednesday.
The market recorded the highest trading level of 32882.02 points and lowest level of 32725.71 points, with the total volume of 23,812,940 shares, having Rs1,656,096,607 value.
Earlier, the stocks started trading with negative note as the Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark KSE-100 index lost 46.25 points to reach 32835.77 level.
On Tuesday, bullish sentiments dominated Karachi shares market as the KSE 100-index closed at 32,882 points, up by 55.78 points. The market closed in the green on the back of activity in the cement sector led by Lucky Cement, which rose 2.4%, and DGKC, up by 1.2%, as prospects of strong earnings growth invited fundamental investors. Stocks closed higher after surge in WTI crude prices above $46/barrel. Major activity was witnessed in mid cap stocks like, BYCO, DCL, TRG and DGKC with traded volumes of 14.7mn, 8.7mn, 7.6mn, and 6.9mn shares respectively.
