Bearish trend continues as KSE sheds 157pts in early trading

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-share index Tuesday started with negative note and shed 157.07 points to drop to 34179.40 points level, with the total volume of 24,775,250 shares.

On Monday, the KSE 100-share index fell by 90.28 points, or 0.26 percent, after profit-taking in blue chip and the index settled at 34336.47 points level. Traded volume declined by 33pc to 219m shares while traded value also decreased up by 37pc to Rs8b/ $76m. Major activity was seen in stocks of Sui South Gas, K-Electric and Descon Oxychem with volume 30.7m shares, 26.5m shares and 22.7m shares respectively.
