Bearish trend persists as KSE-100 index drops huge 331pts till midday

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange Wednesday dropped huge 331.39 points to reach 33240.20 points level till midday.

The market recorded the highest trading level of 33616.52 points and lowest level of 33235.16 points, with the total volume of 67,244,650 shares. As many as 286 companies were active; of which 54 advanced, 219 declined and 13 remained unchanged.

Technology & Communication was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 10,144,000 shares. It was followed by Chemical with a total traded volume of 7,306,120 shares.

The three top traded companies were Pace (Pak) Ltd. with a volume of 6,542,000 and price per share of 7.80 (0.11), Engro Polymer with a volume 2,546,500 of price per share of 11.70 (0.16), Telecard Limited with a volume 1,273,500 of price per share of 3.16 (0.05).

The top three advancers were Khyber Tobacco XD with price per share 398.99 (13.99), Bata (Pak) XD with price per share of 3020.00 (10.00) and Pak Engineering share of 171.70 (8.17).

The top three decliners were Unilever Foods with price per share of 6200.00 (-121.11), Hinopak Motor with price per share of 1150.00 (-52.05) and Colgate PalmoXD per share of 1451.00 (-29.00).
