Big quantity of hashish, opium, pistols recovered from Karachi bound container

KOHAT: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Kohat seized a big quantity of foreign origin hashish, opium and 9mm pistols from a Karachi bound container.

According to details given by Deputy Collector Customs Station Kohat Division Fazli Shakoor while exclusively talking with Customs Today, on a tip-off shared by sources, the ASO Kohat intercepted a container loaded vehicle No: D. I. Khan-8256 registered with one Gulam Khan, a resident of South Waziristan Agency.
He said that, after interception of above said container, the ASO found 740 kilogram of foreign origin hashish, 3.6 kilogram of opium and three pistols of 9mm. Fazli Shakoor said the contraband items were packed in plastic rolls which were covered in 30 cartoons of distilled water. The contraband items were seized under the relevant provision of the Customs Act-1969 and an FIR has been lodged against the smugglers while further investigation is underway.
