KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has inaugurated the “Computerised Land Record System”, a program initiated by the Sindh Board of Revenue (BoR).
Addressing the ceremony, Qaim Ali Shah said that there had been many misappropriations in land record since the year 2001. He said that the government lands were being encroached from the year 2001 until 2007, adding that the lands of police stations were also even encroached by land grabbers.
He further said that the Sindh government allocated Rs 5 billion to computerize the entire land record of Sindh province, however, the BoR has completed the entire project at the cost of Rs 4.6 billion.
“The poor people, who were seeking the land record of their land consisting of four acre takes months of time and also thousands of rupees, however; with the introduction of computerized system, those people can take their land record updates within no time”, Chief Minister added.
Speaking on the occasion, Qaim further said that the land record, which was being guttered, was also compiled soon. On the occasion, Member BoR Zulfiqar Ali was briefed the Sindh Chief Minister about computerization of the land records. Senior Member BoR Rizwan Memon and other senior senior officers were also present on the occasion.
