KARACHI: The stocks Thursday came out of bearish trend and crossed 34,000 mark as the Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark KSE-100 index up by 0.75 per cent, gaining 253.13 points to reach 34187.17 points level till midday.
The market witnessed the highest trading level of 34255.99 points and lowest level of 33934.04 points, with the total volume of 36,011,110 shares, having Rs2,892,048,549value. As many as 287 companies were active; of which 223 advanced, 51 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
Technology & Communication was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 9,261,000 shares, while Glass & Ceramics was second with a total traded volume of 6,597,500 shares.
The three top traded companies were Pace (Pak) Ltd. with a volume of 5,717,500 and price per share of 8.30 (0.09), Bal.Glass with a volume 5,379,000 of price per share of 7.10 (0.62), TRG Pak Ltd with a volume 4,433,000 of price per share of 40.10 (0.79).
The top three advancers were Bata (Pak) XD with price per share 2999 (49) and 40 shares; Packages Ltd.with price per share of 626 (29.81) and 164,800 shares; and Millat Tractors XD share of 622.01 (23.98) and 38,050.
The top three decliners were Colgate PalmoXD with price per share of 1440 (-21) and 300 shares volume, Indus Motor Co SPOT with price per share of 1126.00 (-13.96) and 21,220 shares volume, and Siemens Pak per share of 1000 (-11.25) and 980 shares volume.
On Wednesday, the KSE-100 index inched down 24.08 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 33,934.04 points. Out of total 352 scrips, 152 were up, 177 were down and 23 remained unchanged. The ready market volumes stood at 152.29 million shares as compared to 205.273 million shares in the last trading session.
