OTTAWA: Police have seized a large quantity of contraband cigarettes after searching a vehicle in central Newfoundland.
The RCMP said officers stopped a truck with a trailer on Sunday just west of Grand Falls-Windsor.
Police said during the search they discovered around 100,000 contraband cigarettes.
A Botwood man, 40, was arrested and charged under the Excise and Revenue Administrations acts.
He was released pending a court appearance in December.
