Cars & AC compressors worth Rs1.5m confiscated by Hyderabad ASO

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Customs Preventive Hyderabad, has seized smuggled foreign origin used 311 Nos of useable cars and air-conditioner compressors valued Rs1.5million involving duty taxes of Rs566362 during a raid on Hyderabad Bypass.

The ASO, following a tip-off received through Hyderabad Customs Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq, under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro, conducted a raid to confiscate smuggled contraband items.

The ASO team, comprising Superintendent Ghulam Shabbier Phalpoto, Inspectors Imdad Ali Abro, Abdul Majeed Barich, Muhammad Iqbal, Abid Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Ali Lakho, Hawaldar Muhram Thebo, Sepoys, Nenomal, Umar Sulangi, Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ayoub, Sadique Siddique, Drivers Sher Akbar, Ajaz Ali and Nisar Ahemdani, participated in the action.

The team intercepted the goods at Hyderabad Bypass, unloaded them from truck trailer and recovered foreign origin used 311 Nos of useable cars and air-conditioner compressors. The market value of the seized items is Rs1.6million involving duty taxes of Rs566362.

The accused fled the scene and the team took items into its possession. Further investigations are underway.
