LONDON: Metal chassis maker Casetek has announced consolidated revenues of NT$4.21 billion (US$128.44 million) for November, up 2.83% on month and 7.07% on year, while combined consolidated revenues from January-November reached NT$34.53 billion, up 12.3% on year.

In the second half of 2015, instead of expanding capacity, most metal chassis makers are mainly improving their plant infrastructures to prepare for capacity expansions in 2016. For future development, the company is likely to increase its capex budget to build more capacity for orders such as iPhones, some market watchers noted.

The market watchers pointed out that Casetek is currently the chassis supplier of iPads and the 12-inch MacBook, and 70% of the company’s revenues will be contributed by its iPad orders and 25-30% by the MacBook in 2015. With the iPad Pro helping to boost ASPs, Casetek’s revenues are expected to grow over 10% sequentially in the fourth quarter.

With its MacBook orders continuing to see yield rate improvements, and some of its iPad orders for the fourth quarter having been shifted to the third, Casetek’s third-quarter gross margin was 26.6%, up from 20.14% in the second. Casetek’s gross margin is likely to see further growth in the fourth quarter due to the iPad Pro’s increasing shipments and improved yield rates.
