Caterers get 25 Nov deadline for sales tax registration

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has set 25 November as the deadline for caterers to register themselves for sales tax.

The All Punjab Caterers Association has assured the authority to bring 5,000 caterers to tax net voluntarily. PRA has expedited the registration of caterers who provide services at wedding functions, social ceremonies and political meetings.

The authority has sought cooperation from the All Punjab Caterer Association for collection of sales tax on catering services. On the other hand, the association has assured the department of full support in increasing the revenue. The association has assured the Punjab Revenue Authority to convince its members to bring their businesses to the tax net.

PRA will start action against the caterers who will fail to get their businesses registered for sales tax.
