MUZAFFARABAD: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has strengthened its taxpayer facilitation network to assist individuals and businesses in timely filing of income tax returns and wealth statements.

The CBR AJK has established a dedicated Tax Facilitation Centre at Block-E, New Prime Minister Secretariat, Muzaffarabad, where taxpayers can seek guidance on return filing, wealth reconciliations, sales tax matters, and other tax compliance issues.

Contact Numbers for Assistance

To provide maximum support, taxpayers can directly reach out to the facilitation centre at:

05822-920754

0341-8974400

0333-3787818

Services Offered

The facilitation centre is designed to make tax filing easier and more transparent. Services include:

Guidance on online NTN registration and verification.

Support for return filing through the IRIS system.

Assistance in wealth statement reconciliation.

Clarification of SROs, notifications, and circulars issued by CBR.

Help with vehicle verification and withholding tax adjustments.

Urging Timely Filing

CBR AJK has urged taxpayers to avoid last-minute delays and ensure their returns are filed before the statutory deadline to escape heavy penalties and the risk of non-compliance notices. Filing returns on time not only saves taxpayers from surcharges but also secures their active taxpayer status, reducing withholding taxes on financial transactions.

The board has also emphasized that non-filers may face restrictions on banking transactions, blocked SIMs, and additional penalties, as per recent amendments in tax laws.

A Call to Action

Taxpayers across Azad Jammu & Kashmir are encouraged to take full advantage of the facilitation services provided by CBR AJK. With dedicated staff, helplines, and online resources, the department is working to make the return-filing process smooth and accessible.

“Timely filing is not just a legal obligation but a civic duty,” a CBR AJK spokesperson stated, urging citizens to act responsibly and contribute to the region’s development through proper tax compliance.
