Central Region duty, taxes collection up 2 pc in June

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has registered 2 percent growth in collection of total duty and taxes by collecting Rs 19216 million during June 2016.

As per data, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement contributed Rs 9728 million assigned target of Rs 9747 during the last month of financial year of 2015-16 while the collectoarete of customs preventive contributed Rs 2335 against target of Rs 2676 million. Similarly, collect orate of Customs Multan collected Rs 5429 million against target of Rs 5611 million.

 On the other hand, Faisalabad collectoarte collected Rs 1723 million against Rs 881 million during the period under review.

 On the whole, the Central Region collected Rs 19216 million all duty and taxes registering a growth of 2 percent during the last month of financial year 2015-16.

Earlier, Customs central region registered 25 percent growth of duty and taxes collecting Rs 18491 million against the target of Rs 14808 million during the outgoing month of May 2016.

According to details the Collectorrtae of Customs Preventive under the supervision of Collector Muhammad Sadiq collected Rs 7089 million duty and taxes registering a growth of 24 percent while the collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs 2353 million against the target of Rs 2026 under the supervision of collectors of Customs Zulfiqar Younas.

 Similarly, collectorate of customs Multan under the supervision of Collector Sarfraz Warraich collected Rs 7471 million against the target of Rs 6327 million registering a growth of 18 percent against the target.

 On the other hand collectorate of Faisalabad collected Rs 1576 million duty and taxes registering a hefty growth of 120 percent against the target of Rs 716 million.
