FBR collects Rs 23 billion more than assigned revenue target in June

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs 23 billion more from the assigned revenue collection target during the month of June 2016.

Talking to Customs Today, Federal Board of Revenue Spokesman Dr Mohammad Iqbal said that overall the FBR collected Rs 482 billion and surpassed all the previous records of collection during the month of June. He explained that the amount still not mentioned in bank statements, because on the evening of June 30 entire online system of banking collapsed but the system remained functional in day time. Dr. Iqbal said that according to latest figures FBR collected Rs 467.614 billion till the end of Fiscal Year 2015-16. Now remaining Rs15 billion amount is slowly being transferred in FBR accounts. He said that amount will be adjusted in the bank statement for the month of July 2016.

FBR Spokesman Dr. Iqbal said that FBR successfully collected Rs 121.900 billion on June 30 that is the last day of Fiscal Year 2015-16. He said prior to this FBR collected Rs 85.923 billion in last day of previous Fiscal Year 2014-15. He explained that as compared to previous Fiscal Year collection of last day of current Fiscal Year exceeded 42 percent.
