Central Region posts 53pc growth in customs duty collection in Jan

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has posted a growth of 53 per cent in collection of customs duty during the month of January of the current financial year 2017-18 against the collection of same month last year by collecting over Rs 4819 million.

As per details the Customs Appraisement Lahore has collected Rs2340 million under the head of customs duty during period under review while Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs1103 million during the month under review.

While on the other hand, the Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 1054 million under the head of customs duty during the month of January financial year 2017-18.

In the same way, the Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 322 million under the head of customs duty during the period.

Overall the Central Region collected customs duty from all the four Collectorates worth Rs 4819 million by posting a growth of 53 percent during the month of January while the region also posted 34 percent against the monthly target collecting Rs 3599 million.
