FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa orders actions against illegal trade, smuggling, tax evasion

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Tariq Bajwa met separately with the Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation of FBR Lutfullah Virk and Directorate Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation  Haroon Khan Tareen and ordered them to take stern action illegal trade, smuggling, tax evaders and to fasten the recovery process.

Chairman FBR further advised the DG Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation to search out tax defaulters and to take effective measures to not only bring them into tax-net but also recover due taxes from them. Tariq Bajwa further asked for strict actions against big guns and influential people without any discrimination.

DG Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation also gave briefing to chairman FBR about important case and particularly about the case of Model Ayyan and told that many big tax defaulter were unveiled in this case who have concealed their money. Tariq Bajwa advised them to disposes of such cases up till their result.

Moreover meeting also discussed about new laws and regulation for tax evaders in coming budget of 2015-16. The meeting also decided to implement new and strict laws on all the tax defaulter and high penalties would be imposed on them with reference to Finance Bill.
