Chairman Nisar, Member Nasir likely to visit Customs House Karachi next week

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan along with Customs Member Nasir Masroor Ahmed are likely to visit Custom House, Karachi next week, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the chairman would visit Karachi to meet the customs officers.

They further said that the chairman would also accompanied by the Customs member during his visit, adding that the FBR top authorities would also visit Large Taxpayer Unit (LTU) and the office of the Inland Revenue Services (IRS). “The chairman would review the performance of the authorities concerned”, sources added.

Responding to a query, the sources said that the chairman during his visit to Custom House would also review the revenue collection status, recovery status and the performance of the customs officers.

It is pertinent to mention here that it would be the first visit of the chairman to Custom House after the start of the new fiscal year2016-17.

On the other hand, the customs authorities have directed the authorities concerned to submit a detailed presentation about the revenue status and figures to them, so a brief could be given to the FBR top authorities.
