Chairman PTA Ismail Shah lauds cooperation of people, mobile companies for verification of SIMs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Ismail Shah revealed that Sunday was the last day for biometric verification of mobile Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs), and said deadline for biometric verification of SIMs would not be extended anymore.

He said blocked SIMs will be reactivated upon biometric verification even after Sunday’s deadline.

The PTA chairman said data of verified SIMs would be available with National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). He said about 15 million SIMs has yet to be verified.

Ismail Shah lauded the cooperation of the people and the mobile companies for verification of SIMs. The SIMs verification exercise is part of the National Action Plan.
