Chief Collector Zahid Khokhar lauds ASO for curbing smuggling of Iranian diesel, petrol

KARACHI: Chief Collector-Enforcement South Muhammad Zahid Khokhar held a meeting at his office and lauded the performance of the Customs Preventive in curbing the smuggling of Iranian diesel and petrol.

The meeting was attended by the Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo, Deputy Collector Ali Turrabi Sipra, Assistant Collector Muhammad Ali Raza and others.

Discussing the recent raid being conducted by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Customs Preventive near Mochko Chowrangi against the smuggling of Irani diesel and petrol, the chief collector lauded the intelligence-based raid of the Customs team and hoped that the ASO would continue to work in the same direction with the lot more efforts. Khokhar directed Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo to accelerate the operation against the smuggling of Irani diesel and petrol.

It is pertinent to mention here that the ASO of Customs Preventive has conducted several raids within the precincts of Karachi against the smuggling of Irani diesel and petrol and also seized around 44,000liters of Irani diesel and petrol worth Rs6.2million. However, no arrest could be yet to be made in this regard.

On the occasion, the Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo was briefed the Chief Collector-Enforcement South about the strategy being evolved by the Collectorate and also assured the Chief Collector that Customs Preventive would continue its efforts against curbing the smuggling of Irani diesel and petrol within its jurisdictions.
