KARACHI: The Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) Abdul Rashid Shaikh has imposed ban on transfers and postings of Garde-16 officials with immediate effect.

According to notification, the Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) has imposed immediate ban of transfers and postings of Grade-16 officials including appraisers, principal appraisers, Upper Divisional Clerks (UDCs) and Lower Divisional Clerks (LDCs) in order to enhance the performance of the departments.

In the light of notification, no transfers and postings are to be made in the field formation Collectorates including MCC-Appraisement (West), MCC-Appraisement (East) and MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim in particular.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) in order to improve and enhance the performance of the field formation Collectorates has taken the said step in connection with imposition of ban on transfers and postings.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief Collector Abdul Rashid Shaikh, six months ago had imposed ban on transfers and postings, but it was lifted after a month ago.

Meanwhile, Director Input Output C0-efficient Organization (IOCO) Pervez Esbani called a meeting of the officials of the department the other day.

According to details, the Director IOCO after taking charge as the Director IOCO held second meeting with officers concerned in which he issued comprehensive guideline to the officers and officials of the department to carry out their work with clear and focused strategy.

During the meeting, Director Pervez Esbani elaborated guideline to the officers of the department. He asked them to carry out routine survey of the industrial units, review the duty drawback rates and estimate the quantity of raw material with efficiency.

The officers informed the Director-IOCO that the shortage of manpower is hampering the working as the department is facing staff shortage especially appraisers and principal appraisers.

Director Input Output C0-efficient Organization Pervez Esbani assured the officers and officials of the department that he will discuss the issue of shortage of staff with FBR high officials and resolve the issue soon.

On the occasion, the Director-IOCO asked the officers and officials of the department to ensure early completion of revision of duty drawback rates, so that the final rates would be sent to the FBR Headquarters.
