Chief Collector Samaira Nazir meets importers, exporters at LCCI

LAHORE: Chief Collector of Customs Sumaira Nazir Khan has held a meeting with the importers and exporters at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and noted their suggestions to facilitate the export oriented industries in the federal budget 2016-17.

On the occasion, Deputy Collector Customs (Exports) Sheraz Ahmed explained the export promotion related schemes to the businessmen.

He shed light on tax relief regimes, rational risk areas, core components of effective export promotion schemes,  existing schemes and share, possible scenarios for merger.

He also talked about comparison of tax exemption regimes, evaluation of proposals, merging EOU and warehousing rules, existing issues at implementation levels.

The LCCI vice president Nasir Saeed said that it is a matter of concern that exports are showing a decline trend besides the fact that country has all resources. He said it is expected that exports would remain limited to $23 billion at the end of ongoing financial year which is not a good omen.

Collector Customs (Exports) Samina Tasneem Zahra, and Collector Customs Muhammad Sadiq and a good number of Importers and exporters were present on the occasion.
