Chief Collector Sarwat Tahira calls collectors conference on April 22

ISLAMABAD: Customs North Region Chief Collector Sarwat Tahira Habib has called collectors conference here on April 22 (Friday) to review the performance.

In the conference, the overall progress of ongoing anti-smuggling activity, cases and revenue collection performance will be discussed besides analyzing the value of seized items.

The chief collector will preside over the meeting of collectors of Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Gilgit-Baltastan. The officials will also discuss strategies to enhance the performance of collectorates and to eliminate the smuggling in the region.

Revenue targets assigned by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to the North region for the fourth quarter and for fiscal year will also be reviewed, besides developing the plan for achieving the target.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Customs generated Rs 15 million through auction the smuggled items and vehicles during last 45 days.
