ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is planning to generate 3600 megawatt of electricity in collaboration with China. On the other hand China aims to export 3000 megawatt electricity to Pakistan, the federal secretary water and power Younus Dhaga told a cabinet meeting in Islamabad.
The meeting of the federal cabinet was held in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair.
During the meeting, the secretary water and power briefed the cabinet about his recent visit to Beijing and his discussions with the Chinese authorities.
The secretary said that during his visit, he also discussed ways to lay transmission line from China to Pakistan for the supply of the imported electricity.
The secretary water and power also briefed the cabinet on the latest development with regard to the Pakistan-China economic corridor and other projects.
The cabinet meeting gave its approval for initiating dialogue with China for the import of electricity.
