China to start 10,400 MW power projects in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: China is starting 10,400 MW power generation projects in Pakistan and an agreement will be signed next month in this regard.

Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said this while addressing a news conference. He said a Pakistani delegation will also visit China for completing work on the process of these projects, which include hydel, wind and coal that will generate cheap electricity to overcome prevailing energy shortage in the country.

The minister said it will be a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the energy sector as China is also providing loans to the executing companies of these projects.
