BEIJING: In cooperation with Yantai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Yantai Customs House (affiliated to Qingdao Customs District) conducted a collective destruction of seized endangered animal products – untanned raw crocodile skins that were illegally imported, totaling 20 sheets, weighing about 20 kilograms, and worth more than CNY600,000.

When officers of Yantai Customs House conducted a routine inspection over the luggage of a foreign passenger by an international flight, the seizures were found on the spot. Based on appraisal, they have potential risks to transmit epidemic diseases. To prevent the skins from being rotten and pestiferous, the destruction was made jointly by Customs and CIQ.
