Closing: KSE gains 70pts, up 0.21% on productive economic forecast

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index gained 69.91 points or 0.21 percent to reach 33304.64 points and volume of 284,266,710shares on Monday as experts forecast a productive week ahead on arrival of Chinese President Xi Jingping .
At midday trading, country’s biggest stock market maintained the last week’s bullish momentum and gained 283.60 points or 0.85 per cent to take the tally to 33518.33 points.

Earlier, the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) kicked off another trading week with positive mood and up by 1.07 per cent, gaining 356.40 points to reach 33591.13 points.

Karachi equity market sustained its momentum as 100-index surged by 884 points in the previous week. The bulls dominated trading at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and pushed up index by 2.7 percent Week on Week (WoW) to close at 33,234.73 as against 31,413.96 points of previous week’s closing.

Activity at bourse improved considerably as average daily trading volume of improved from 191 million shares in previous week to 227 million shares during current week (up 19 percent on a WoW basis). Foreigners remained net buyers past week, taking fresh positions of worth $7.5 million, mainly concentrated in banks.
The High and Low of today trading were 33649.68 and 33229.20 respectively with the total volume traded in the market of 284,266,710.
