Closing: KSE up 119pts or 0.35% after a mixed trading session

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index gained 119.17 points or 0.35 percent to reach 34270.28  points and volume of 247,174,560 shares on Tuesday.

Earlier, the KSE started with positive note as 100-index added 224.72 points to take the tally to 34375.83 points level.

On Monday, the KSE gained 138.62 points or 0.41 percent to reach 34151.11 points. Total volume traded in the market was 449,977,580 shares with 379 total traded companies out of which 222 were up 137 were down and 20 were unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 403,610,860 shares with 369 total traded companies out of which 173 were up 168 were down and 28 were unchanged.

Cement was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 73,193,600 shares. It was followed by Fertilizer with a total traded volume of 56,219,100 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Ltd. with a volume of 31,445,000 and price per share of 8.10 (0.08), Byco Petroleum with a volume 24,402,500 of price per share of 14.02 (0.55), Arif Habib Corp with a volume 20,901,000 of price per share of 42.19 (1.95).

The top three advancers were Service Ind. Ltd with price per share 728.00 (31.98), Murree Brewery with price per share of 1090.00 (28.75) and Nestle Pak share of 10020.00 (20.00).

The top three decliners were Pak Tobacco with price per share of 916.95 (-27.04), Island Textile with price per share of 700.00 (-19.25) and Abbott Lab. per share of 608.00 (-15.73).

High and low were 34497.56 and 34151.11 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 247,174,560 shares.
