Coal power plant case: Chief Justice LHC forms 3-member bench for hearing

LAHORE: Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Manzoor Ahmed Malik has formed a full bench for the hearing of the case against installation of coal power plant in urban areas.

A single bench of the LHC has already issued a stay order on power plant’s installation and proposed to constitute  a full bench for the case hearing.

Chief Justice LHC formed a three-member full bench which comprises Justice Faisal Zaman and Justice Shahid Kareem whereas it is headed by Justice Mamoon-ur-Rasheed.

The full bench will initiate the hearing of the petitions from 28th July, 2015 (today).

More than 15 petitions have challenged the step of installing coal power plants in urban areas specially Sahiwal and Lahore coal power plants.
