Collector Adjudication Asif Abbas issues notice to owner of non-duty paid truck

FAISALABAD: Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Abbas has issued a show cause notice to the owner of a non-duty paid foreign origin Hino truck named Muhammad Asim.

Sources told Customs Today that ASO Mianwali impounded a smuggled Hino truck bearing registration No LC-3731 near Mianwali Toll Plaza MM Road Mianwali. The driver failed to produce any legal documents regarding import of the truck.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization superintendent brought the vehicle to Faisalabad Dry Port for proper verification. The representatives produced different goods declarations of the truck. The documents were scrutinized and not found tallied in respect of the vehicle.

Therefore ASO Mianwali impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings. Now Collector Adjudication Asif Abbas has issued show cause notice to Muhammad Aim. The collector also directed that in case the owner fails to provide evidence the case will be decided on merit.
