Collector Ahmad Reza vows to curb smuggling from Sialkot, Gujranwala

SIALKOT: Collector Customs Ahmad Reza Khan has said that performance of Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation are commendable and efforts to curb smuggling showing positive results.

Talking to Customs Today, Ahmad Reza said that officials of the ASO and Customs Intelligence will not spare anyone who found involved in smuggling. He said, “Smuggling menace is spoiling our society, so we have to get rid of this menace to save our future generations.”

He said  that customs and ASO are jointly adopting a comprehensive strategy to control smuggling, specially through GT Road. He said the customs authorities are going to start operations against markets, shops and plazas where shopkeepers are selling smuggled clothes and electronics items.

It is learnt that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed to start anti-smuggling operations in all regions.

Collector Ahmed Reza said that beside him deputy director customs intelligence and investigation Gujranwala region Ms. Zainab Mehmood will supervise whole operation.
