ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Collector Dr Arslan Subuctageen is hopeful of achieving the set revenue targets for current fiscal year 2015-16.
The collector attended an ‘Iftar Dinner’ party hosted by Air Freight Unit (AFU) Additional Collector Khawaja Naeem at Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
He said, “the blessings of the holy month, Ramazan provide us chances to meet each other in Iftar parties”.
On this occasion, the collector met with his lower staff and asked about their jobs and health. He ensured the staff that collectorate will take care of all their professional needs. He added that cash rewards on showing good performance have been distributed among the employees before the Eid ul Fitar.
The office will remain open today (June 30) till 12pm to review the revenue collections before submitting to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
During discussion with the officers, he said that all pending cases till December 2015 have been solved in ordered to facilitate the exporters and to enhance the exports of the country.
The Islamabad Customs has developed a close liaison with Motorway Police and National Highway Authority (NHA) in order to curb the smuggling through the national roads, he said, adding that NHA has been requested to inform the customs officials if any illegal movement of goods is observed.
Another officials talking to Customs Today revealed that Pakistan International Airlines and Nadra will deposit their dues on Thursday (today), adding that it will be helpful to meet the set target successfully.
Collector Arslan said that recovery process and anti-smuggling campaign also contributed its positive role to achieve the revenue targets.
