Collector stated that up-country dry port has contributed a lot towards the national exchequer and played a vital role in development of exports in the South Punjab region. He urged the trading community that they should utilise the facility of Multan dry port for its survival while their problems would be redressed on top-priority basis.

He said that local exporters were not using the up-country dry port due to considerable delay in refund of rebate claims as compared to duration of refund of rebate claims at Karachi Collectorates. “Ruthless double taxation and checking of export consignments by the Anti-Narcotic Force, systematic hurdles are creating severe problems for exporters instead of facilitating them.”

In case of any complaint, the exporter/importer can send the video virally or to me for the rectification of issue. A ramp will also be built at the Multan International  Airport for the smooth clearance of goods so that the goods can reach the people safely. He assured business community of Multan that he will talk to the authorities and said that efforts are being made to resolve the problems related to the Customs Appraisal of Multan and I will continue to visit Multan regularly to resolve issues of Multan business community and it will also save their time and capital.

President Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mian Rashid Iqbal has also requested Collector Asdaq Afzal Sensera to establish a special help desk for the business community to resolve their issues on priority basis. It should be formed immediately to facilitate exports and imports round the clock to rectify errors in the WoBOC system, hence paving way for the smooth clearance of consignments.

President MCCI Mian Rashid Iqbal and Senior Vice President MCCI Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh expressed their appreciation for the commitment to locally resolving issues pertaining to Collector Customs Faisalabad Appraisal.
