Collector Customs Adjudication reserves decision against Commander Agro in mis-declaration case

MULTAN: Collector Customs Adjudication has reserved the decision against the Commander Agro Private Limited in mis-declaration case of chemical of worth Rs7 million.

Commander Agro Pvt. limited had imported several consignments of Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate of Rs25 million for the manufacturing of feed grade. The import consignment of Commander Agro Pvt. limited were consists of 800 bags in which company declared the chemical imported of Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate. The chemicals found in two different shapes in the bags that were in granules form and powder form.

During the last hearing of the mis-declaration case of Owner of Commander Agro, Col. Ret. Rafiq Ahmad has constantly blamed before the Collector Customs Adjudication Saleem Ahmad Ranjha that Model Customs Collectorate Multan has tampered the chemical examination report to lodge a case against him on personal biasness and claimed that he has not committed any violation of law.

On the other hand, Deputy Collector Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik presented the record of WEBOC, automated system to counter his arguments during the preceding of case and said that accused has accepted charges, built by customs authorities regarding the mis-declaration on import of chemicals has paid evaded amount Rs 7 million to MCC Multan.

Deputy Collector Multan Dry Port, Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik has presented the sufficient evidences that chemical Lambda Cyhalothrin was found during forensic examination of the chemical and the owner of the accused company has declared the only Chemical Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate in the goods declaration .The price of Lambda Cyhalothrin was $36 per kg while the price of Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate was $23 per kg. He added that the company tried to evade customs duty Rs 7million through mis-declaration as there were 400 bags of Lambda-Cyhalothrin. The Multan Dry Port has sent contravention report to the Customs Adjudication after collecting the Rs 7million customs duty.

Deputy Collector Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik, also presented the chemical examination report of imported chemicals which was examined twice for the confirmation of ingredients found during the chemical examination.

It declared chemical Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate instead of lambda-cyhalothrin. Dry Port Multan detected miss declaration of chemical in import during laboratory examination after confirmation of miss declaration Customs Collectorate Multan has sent contravention report to the Customs Adjudication. The accused Commander Agro Pvt. limited company is also insisting that they have already paid the customs duty of Rs7 million then it is not right to constitute a case on the company.

The accused Commander Agro Pvt. limited company tried to evade Customs duty tax of Rs7 million through miss declaration. Collector Saleem Akhtar Ranjha has started preparing the verdict of mis-declaration after the completion of proceeding. The judgment will be given soon in the said case.
