Collector Farid Iqbal’s Appraisement West issues assessment alerts in clearing process

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West has issued assessment alerts for the convenience of importers and office staff.

According to details, the assessment alerts include creating ease during the clearance process, timely clearance of the consignments at terminals, timely assessment and examination of the imported consignments and accurate evaluation of the consignments.

Collector Appraisement-West Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi has asked the authorities concerned, including the appraising officers and examiners to ensure smooth clearance of the imported consignments.

The assessment alerts further stated that the customs officials should ensure zero pendency on daily basis in connection with the clearance of the consignments.

The importers’ community hailed the assessment alerts issued by the authorities concerned of Customs Appraisement (West) and stated that the said assessments would definitely ease the process of clearance, assessment and examination.

They further said that the customs authorities should take the stakeholders on board before issuing any assessment alerts so that the trade would also include its suggestions and recommendations in it.
