Collector Gul Rahman launches anti-smuggling drive in whole KP province

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Unit of the Customs House Peshawar has seized the NDP goods worth Rs11.7million on an actionable tip-off given by Gul Rahman Marwat to the ASU Peshawar Customs.

The anti-smuggling campaign has been started with the direction of Collector Customs Gul Rahman in the whole province.

In this regard, anti-smuggling squads took into possession the following non-duty-paid vehicles and other smuggling items.

Cases have been registered against the accused smugglers who were arrested along with the NDP Hino Dumper (10-wheeler), F/O MP3 Players/usb flash disk complete sets, F/O mobile accessories, polyester cloth, auto-parts, curtains, tyres, laptops (Old and used) F/O black tea, Toyota pickup, Toyota XLI motor car, Toyota corolla car-2005 and Suzuki pickup.

The seizures have added millions of revenue to the collection of Customs House Peshawar. In this regard, the efforts of customs officials were lauded by the Collector Customs while talking to Customs Today on Tuesday at Peshawar.

Collector Customs Peshawar Gul Rahman told CT that Peshawar has been on the top with respect to the smuggling of non-customs-paid items for which special drive has been initiated with zero tolerance towards the smuggling.

The Collector Customs has stressed the need for discouraging the use and smuggling of NDP goods in order to add millions of revenue each week to the revenue collection of Peshawar Customs.
