Collector Javaid orders to recover Rs 15.1m from M/s Fatima Fertilizer

KARACHI: Customs Adjudication Collector Chaudhary Mohammad Javaid has issued an Order-in-Original (ONO) against M/s Fatima Fertilizer Company, directing the importer to deposit Rs 15.131 million into national kitty and also imposed a fine of Rs 800,000.

According to the details, M/s Fatima Fertilizer imported eight consignments and sought the benefit of SRO 575(I)/2006. However, the importer company provided Annex-I for only two consignments.

The adjudication collector observed that the charges framed by PCA stands partially established as Annex-I for only two GDs have been provided and remaining six are absent. The collector established that the mandatory condition has not been fulfilled; therefore, the leviable duty/taxes amounting to Rs 15.131 million are recoverable from the importer after re-confirmation from the relevant record.
