Collector Memon lauds performance of officials on exceeding revenue target

Appraisement-East surpasses Rs 206b target of FY2014-15

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East surpassed the revenue target of Rs 206.06 billion for the fiscal year 2014-15 and collected Rs 223.39 billion.

According to the details collected by Customs Today, in the fiscal year 2014-15 the collection of customs duty stands to the tune of Rs 66.099 billion against the target of Rs 61.461 billion with 108 percent achievement.

In wake of sales tax, the Appraisement-East collected Rs 117.81 billion against the target of Rs 110.801 billion with 106 percent achievement, while in the sum income tax it generated Rs 38.115 billion against the set target of Rs 32.034 billion surpassing the target by 119 percent.

On the other hand, it also collected Rs 1.368 billion as federal excise duty against the target of Rs 1.764 billion with the shortfall of Rs 396 million and achieved 78 percent of the target.

In overall performance the MCC Appraisement-East collected Rs 223.393 billion in wake of duty and taxes against the target of Rs 206.060 billion with an outstanding achievement of 108 percent.

Meanwhile, Collector Appraisement-East, Manzoor Hussain Memon has commended the efforts of the staff members of the Collectorate for giving outstanding results in the revenue collection.

He hoped that these efforts would continue in the future too with a view to ensuring maximum contribution to the national exchequer in terms of direct and indirect taxes/duties.
