Port Qasim Collector Mukarram Jah directs officials to ensure transparency in clearance process

KARACHI: Collector Customs Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Mukarram Jah Ansari has directed the officials to ensure transparency in clearance of the consignments at all costs.

Sources informed Customs Today that Collector Ansari chaired a meeting in the Collectorate a few days ago and asked the officials to speed up the process of the clearance of the consignments which were laying at the Qasim International Containers Terminal (QICT).

The sources said that the collector was briefed on the working and performance of the Collectorate, adding that the collector also asked the Customs officers to ensure transparency in the process of clearing at the QICT.

The collector was further taken briefing from the law section of the Collectorate and asked them to executive the cases which are in pending in different courts of law.

The Collector Port Qasim Mukarram Jah has taken all details from the authorities of law section of the Collectorate in order to know the current status of the cases which are pending courts of law, adding that the millions of rupees tax evasion cases in different courts of law.

The collector has asked the authorities of Law Section of the Collectorate to execute the cases while appointing determined solicitor in order to resolve the cases so that huge amount of stuck national exchequer to be recovered.
