Collector Preventive visits Punjab Forensic Science Agency HQ

LAHORE: Collector Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas held a meeting with Director General Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) Dr Muhammad Ashraf Tahir at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency headquarters Monday.

Both officers discussed matters of mutual interest especially issues relating to forensic examination of vehicles. DG PFSA assured full cooperation to resolve issues. On the request of the Collector Customs Zulfiqar Younas, the DG PFSA agreed to impart necessary training to the customs officials regarding forensic awareness.

Later the collector customs took a tour of the PFSA and was briefed about the various facilities available at the agency.

It is expected that this cooperation will help customs department in timely action against tempered vehicle and forensic investigations of currency and other high profile smuggling cases.

Collector of Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younis taking a number of measures to streamline various operations within the agency and with the colleague agencies to overcome smuggling of various banned items and currency and drugs especially.

Earlier, the collector had constituted special teams to search suspected international flights and to monitor all the entry and exit points at the airport.

As part of this initiative, Collector Of Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas visited Allama Iqbal International Airport along with the Regional Director Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Punjab Brigadier Khalid Goraya on December 27to personally inspect existing procedures and arrangements deployed to search and scan outbound & inbound passengers and accompanied baggage. Both the heads discussed various proposals to improve upon information sharing, pooling of human and material resources for joint operations and to enhance overall effectiveness of their agencies.
