SIALKOT: Model Customs Collectorate Collector Ahmed Reza Khan has directed the officials to perform their duties with dedication, launch a robust tax recovery campaign and anti-smuggling operations in order to strengthen the national economy.

The collector issued these directions while having a meeting with officials at his office. Additional Collector Faiz Ali, Deputy Collectors Waheed Anwar Abro, Muhammad Hanif, Assistant Collectors Fahad Bashir Choudhary, Mohtahsin Minhas and other officials attended the meeting.

Ahmed said that all officials will have to work hard to improve revenue collection, adding that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has instructed all collectorates to take measures for increasing revenue. He said that the anti-smuggling campaign is continued to curb smuggling whereas the FBR has appreciated the performance of Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO).

As the Sialkot Customs has achieved its revenue targets by 100 percent during last fiscal year 2015-16, the FBR hoped the same from the collectorate, he informed the officals, adding that all of customs officials will have to take equal part to realise the set targets for running fiscal year.

All officials should cooperate with each other in order to increase revenue collection and tightened noose around smugglers in the region, he suggested, adding that smuggling was damaging the national economy badly. He also directed them to expedite the tax recovery process.
