Customs Appraisement station wise customs duty collection up 20pc

LAHOR: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement has collected Rs 19,470 million station wise customs duty from Mughalpura Dry Port, Carriage and Freight Station (CFS), Machikay and Prem Nagar registering growth of 20 percent from July 2015  to May 2016.

As per details, the collectorate collected Rs 6,457 million from Mughalpura Dry Port while it collected Rs 10,255 million from CFS. On the other hand, the collectorate of customs collected Rs 1,735 million from Machikay.  The collectorate gathered Rs 1,048 million from Prem Nagar.

The collectorate besides collecting the customs duty also granted Rs 29 million refund and rebate claimed by importers and exporters.

The collectorate, on the whole, collected Rs 1,9470 million during the period under review against Rs 1,6263 million during the same period of last financial year.

The collectoarte was able to register a growth of 20 percent when compared with the last year collection from all the stations working under the limits of collctorate of Customs Appraisement Lahore.
