Collector Sarfraz Warraich to present Multan Customs revenue report

MULTAN: A meeting was held at the Model Customs Collectorate to discuss revenue collection of seven months of current fiscal year.

Reportedly, Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich presided over the meeting along with him Additional Collector Muhammad Ismail, Deputy Collector Saad Atta Rabbani and others officials attended the meeting to devise effective strategy for the improvement of revenue collection.

The Collectorate conducted meeting to chalk out better future plan for the revenue collection. The Collectorate is facing revenue shortfall after end of the January due to sudden decrease in the import clearances from Multan Dry Port.

During meeting, Deputy Collector  Saad Atta Rabbani informed about the revenue collection in which Rs4034.599 million customs duties are collected against the assigned target of Rs4532 million from July to January 2016-17.

Sources said that the Collectorate has collected Rs12337.698 million sales taxes from July to January against the target of Rs23810 million. The overall attained collection of the Collectorate is Rs23599.272 million against the assigned target of Rs28682 million so far.

It is important to mention that Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich will give presentation on the revenue collection meeting of Chief Collector conference presided by Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Muhammad Irshad held in Islamabad today (February 8, 2017).
